Thailand’s Laguna Phuket resort used AIME in Melbourne to unveil plans for a new 1,000 sq.m venue capable of hosting a wide variety of meetings and incentive programs, conferences, gala dinners and other events in a spectacular tropical waterside setting.
Latitude, a marquee-style structure, will be an all-weather, fully air-conditioned stand-alone facility capable of accommodating up to 1,000 people theatre style, 800 for cocktails and 600 for a banquet.
The new facility will occupy 1,500 sq.m of concrete surface to allow for further expansion and breakout capability. An additional 450 sq.m pre-function area also will be available.
Scheduled for completion in mid-2010, Latitude will be located in Laguna Phuket, opposite Canal Shopping Village and adjacent to Bang Tao beach.
Latitude’s versatility will include lined side walls that can be opened or removed for an open air ambience, or closed and sealed with blackout capability for daytime conferences. It will have a centre height of 7.5 metres; side height of 4 metres; and 10 bays each measuring 20 metres wide x 5 metres long, enabling the side length of the marquee to be adjustable in five metre increments up to 50 metres.
Other features include flexible entrance/exit positions, removable carpeted flooring, undercover exterior walkways, built-in power supply, wireless internet access and toilet facilities.
